The cold steel Bokken MARTIAL training sword is a specialized ancient training weapon that's meant to simulate the weight of a real Japanese sword. It inspires admiration, as it hits with terrific power, mainly intended for solo practice or cutting drills. In Akido 5th Dan, Andrew Demko's private collection, our interpretation was influenced by a wooden Suburito. It's designed to provide several years of intense service and it will certainly make a person a swordsman if used faithfully. This training sword provides the modern Martial Artist with superior heavy duty training ability. Weighing about 19.9 ounces, this bokken has a depth of one inch. The bokken's blade portion is 30 inches and the segment of the handle is 11 1/2 inches long, resulting for a combined length of 41 1/2 inches. The large blade of the bokken imitates the Warrior swords' flowing lines, but since they are made of super tough polypropylene, without sharp edges or points, they are suitable for armored sparring, exercise, conditioning exercises and 'pell work.' Each bokken features an intricately detailed imitation cord wrap grips, even while wearing heavy gloves, offering superior control. The "cordwork" on the handgrip is extremely well molded, in beautiful detail, and there is more texturing in the spaces between the cordwork.
